This policy explains what Bollywood Beauty Salon Inc (“we”) collects when you use this website or book an appointment with us, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We have tried to write it in plain English rather than legal boilerplate.
Who we are
Bollywood Beauty Salon Inc

What we collect
If you send us a message through the contact form: your name, your email address, and whatever you write in the message.
If you book an appointment: your phone number, your name, the service, stylist, date and time you chose, and any notes you add. You may optionally give an email address so we can send you a confirmation — it is optional and a booking works without it.
If you are a returning client: a record of your visits, so the eyebrow threading loyalty card works. That is a count of visits, not a record of anything else.
What we do not collect
This website has no analytics, no advertising trackers and no pixels of any kind. We do not know who visits, which pages you read, or where you came from. Our fonts are served from this website rather than from Google, so loading a page does not tell anyone else that you did.
We do not take payment online. We never see or store card details. You pay at the salon.
Why we collect it
- To hold your appointment and to tell the salon it exists
- To send you a booking confirmation, if you gave us an email address
- To reach you if your appointment has to change
- To run the loyalty card — five paid eyebrow threadings, the sixth free
- To reply when you contact us
Text messages
We send a one-time code by text when you sign in. That is part of signing in and is not marketing.
We also send appointment confirmations and appointment reminders by text, from +1 (650) 379-0516, to the mobile number you give us when you book — online, at the front desk, over the phone, or through this website. We do not send marketing or promotional texts from this number, and how often you hear from us depends only on the appointments you book.
Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP to any text for help, or call us at 650-938-2400. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts — this does not cancel any appointment you have booked; call us if you need to change or cancel it.
No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.
We do not sell or rent your mobile number, and we do not send marketing or promotional text messages at all — the only texts we send are the sign-in code and your appointment confirmations and reminders.
Membership photos
If you buy a membership — Platinum or Platinum Elite — we take a photograph of you at the counter, on the front-desk tablet, at the moment you buy it. This applies only to members — ordinary clients are never photographed.
The membership has no limit on how many times it can be used, so the photo is how we confirm the person using it is the person who bought it. That is its only purpose. We do not use it for marketing, we do not share it with anyone, and we do not use it to identify you anywhere else. There is no facial recognition software involved — a staff member simply looks at it.
If you would rather not be photographed, you can set a 4-digit PIN instead. That is a real alternative, not a formality. It works differently, though: a photo is checked by a staff member looking at you, while a PIN is entered at the counter and verified by our system before the membership price applies. We record your consent at the counter when the photograph is taken; a PIN you choose yourself isn’t personal data in the way a photo of your face is, so choosing one instead does not carry a separate consent record.
The photo is kept in private storage, not on this website. Staff view it through a link that expires after about two minutes, and it is deleted when you cancel the membership or delete your account — cancelling removes the photo because the reason we held it is gone. There is no way to change or remove the photo on its own: cancelling the membership deletes it, and so does deleting your account. If you have a concern about your photo before then, speak to a staff member at the salon.
Who else handles your information
We use a small number of service providers to run the booking system. They process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:
- Supabase — stores appointments and client records
- Railway — runs the booking service
- Vercel — hosts this website
- Resend — sends booking and contact emails
- Twilio — sends sign-in codes and appointment texts
We do not sell your personal information, and we never have.
How long we keep it
Appointment and loyalty records are kept while you remain a client, so that your visit history and loyalty count stay correct. Contact form messages live in our email inbox. You can ask us to delete your records at any time.
Your rights in California
If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy of it, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. You also have the right not to be treated differently for exercising any of those rights — asking us to delete your data will never affect the service you receive.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of.
To make a request, call us on 650-938-2400 or email bollybeautysalon@gmail.com. We may need to confirm your identity, usually by checking the phone number on your account.
Children
We cut children’s hair, but appointments are made by an adult. This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Security
Information is held on the services listed above, all of which encrypt data in transit. Access to client records is limited to salon staff who need it. No system is perfect, and we will tell affected clients promptly if something goes wrong.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be made clear rather than quietly edited in.
